really awesome video. thank you so much.
I honestly don't see why anyone would need more than 4 drills at one time, especially across multiple brands. The only reason for multiple drills is to not have to swap bits every time you need to switch tools or if you're trying to cover all your bases on compact vs powerful drills. Having one or two spare drills of another brand only makes sense if you have specific tools that you could only get in that brand and you need to be on the go with said tools and want to only have one brand, but still need drills. Being in a shop having those backup drills makes very little sense.
Except if you teach people on RUclips and would like experience with more than one brand 🤷
This is fantastic! Thanks for all the ideas for spraying and hanging. I’m especially grateful for info about water based finishes. Quick question: how do you store your spraying and drying racks? The bases are kind of bulky for my space.
It all comes apart into straight pieces. I store them in a rack on the wall up high out of the way
Wow!!! Your table saw fence is amazing. You’re teaching so many things in this video! Thank you!!
I don't have stuff like the countersink tool because I don't need them, lol. Simple as that. Most everyone that recommends them seem to always be in a big hurry for some reason. I find woodworking to be relaxing and a way to pass my time. Like right now, I'm in the process of building a punched tin door pie safe and I've probably been working on it off and on for about 2 weeks now and I've got nothing but time on my hands....and sometimes stain, but the Lava soap gets rid of that well enough.
Glad to hear it! But I can't say the majority of my audience has nothing but time on their hands 😀 most appreciate the efficiency!
Love this series❤ I’m only 8 minutes in but I need deets on the fence. I’m a newbie. Ive made a few decent pieces around my home but definitely amateur. I’ve noticed the Calibration on both my table saw and miter saw are slightly off. I’ve searched YT for help but nothing really simple yet detailed.
Excellent. I need to build something like this for my 10" drill press. Thank you.
Hey man, not sure you name but i saw your i quit video and wanted to first saw welcome to Tennessee. and to thank you for sharing your journey. I've been trying for 9 years to convince my Wife that we have enough yard in the back to build a shop. So pray for me.
How did you measure your face frames? How did you line them up when you glued them? How do you get a straight line with your router table when theirs nothing to index the fence in reference to the bit?
Wait, so if you remove the handle the drawer the front falls off? Not sure I like having only 2 and the the same screws as the handle holding on my fronts like that. If those screw holes get wallowed out then the repair includes realigning the fronts.
No, the front is screwed to the drawer from the back. The handle is not holding it on. You just use the holes to hold the drawer in place while you install it.
@@MWAWoodworks Whew! Thanks for clarifying.
Late to the party but we’re moving into a new house so I’m diving deep into how I want to organize the garage… something I found that is handy for organizing saw blades is to use vinyl record sleeves
nicely done and explained. I bought the ubiquitous HF Dust collector. I mounted it outside my shop and ran the duct through the wall. My wife was not pleased lol. It works. Every point you made including static shocks is point on. Plastic gates suck. I am retired and have lung issues so the floating dust is an issue for m. I 3-D printed a forced air helmet for using with my lathe and other dust producing machines. Along with the 4 inch dust collection, it is enough for my shop ( 12 X 24 ). Seriously thinking about one of those box fan filters though. I can hang it from my shop ceiling and maybe improve a little more.
About how much did all the wood cost
I used the table saw method and was very impressed at the finish it gave me.
Excellent! ..wish I had your knowledge
Well now you do 😂
Ive done this with plywood, just have to drill on top or a sacrificial sheet of plywood or MDF. Adds a lot of cost, but completely eliminated the blowout.
The johnny depp clip is hilarious!! Thank you for such a thorough and informative explanation!
You can use a pair of those table saw auxiliary fence clamps with your 1-2-3 blocks into corners to get perfect 90 degree corners.
Dowels for everything - always.
Amazing. I need to do the pantry shelves and this video is going to help a lot. Subscribed!
That base and hole pattern on the drill guide makes it look like you could mount it like a router under a table
I use a rigid 6.5 hp with a dust stopper dust collector with a bag in the vacuum. Pretty inexpensive and seems to work good. Makes cleanup time shorter and far less dust in the garage. Next I am going to build a filter system with 4 filters and a caterpillar fan.
Question: @7:25, if I put my finger in the hole, will I get a magnetic personality..... asking for a friend.
As a beginner, I am blown away by the production quality, thoroughness, and useful tidbits found in this of this tutorial. Excellent video!
Thanks for all these great tips and the instruction. I’m having a workshop constructed right now and I’m starting with a blank slate and this is giving me many great ideas.
Can you use this jig with a regular jigsaw blade or should you use a scroll saw blade
What was the cost for this cabinet?
@4:00 it's got markings in both millimiter and "standard" measurement LOL
Sorry I misspoke I should have said normal not standard 😂😂😂
Wow. A great example of don't believe Bezos hype that Amazon has the best deals on everything. Even fucking Woodcraft has a better price on the phenolic plywood.
dammit. i bought the kreg jig 2 days ago and immediately used it so i can't return it.
this is a great video of a extension fence and all the ways it can be used. great engineering and forethought about the T nut placement. double reversible for maximum flexibility is just smart.
Prefinished Maple... that's all I need to know... Prefinished Maple. Thanks for not saying it at the beginning, made me watch and what a great video. As a newer woodworker knowing my next step is to build a shop, you have provided a wealth of knowledge and ideas. Thank you. In southeastern NC, plywood is stupid expensive. I am heading to my supplier to see what they are getting for Prefinished Maple. I think they were upward of $130-150 a sheet. Crazy but may have to stick with cheaper at this point. Always go to 11.
...and then you end with the world's most expensive unnecessary tool?
😂 that's only half correct. Expensive yes, unnecessary, definitely not!
I’d like to be able to do something like this, but I’ll stick to doing electrical and just find a carpenter who can make these. Might cost me more, but if I was buying products this guy makes, I know 100% it’s done correctly and will last
Very good overview on dust collection.
Maybe don’t have cabinets, open shelves, visible stuff, etc. If I can’t see it, it doesn’t exist.
Really enjoyed your presentation, easy to understand and with some very useful tips for my novice woodworking skills, thanks mate!
How about bed frame?
One thing that saved me money, is that I was able to reuse a lot of wood and materials, because I had the tools and the knowledge of how to do it. Many pieces of wood in my house have been a desk, then a wardrobe, then a shelf etc. without me needing to buy new wood.
Really excellent 'heads-up' and presentation... Informative, useful, visually interesting, easy to listen to, and nicely paced. Many thanks... Liked and Subscribed.
At the end of this you mentioned your router table was attached at the end of your table saw. Mine is too. I would find it hard to believe you didn’t have some upgrades implemented as part of the fence. I would be interested in seeing this as well.
10:45 -- the time and effort required to *learn* the skills is a one off... once learned the time and effort to execute the joints is much, much less.
Or.. You could be an idiot like me, a very part time hobbyist, who has almost all of these tools, including both dominoes. Tools are fun.
want to see one about cutting holes like for speakers.
How do you determine the dimensions of your doors and drawer fronts??
there is one more actually few where you use for cabinets or furniture where inside either metal, or hook metal used so it could be removed and moved to other place
Its easy when you got thoes type of tools its harder when dont have it
I absolutely love the rolling shop-vac setup. Super nice! If/when I get to have a shop, that might be the first thing I make (well, after a MEGA-accurate cross-cut sled... because we all MUST make one of those).
I gave this a thumbs up. IMHO there are too many words. Just name the tool and show what it does.
That's literally what he's doing.
Labels. I have that exact same label maker. I think making labels is fun. If you have fifty little drawers for nuts and bolts, etc. like I do it helps to label them.
